Lecture-concert “Traditional wedding in Dnipropetrovsk region: bachelorette party”.
Yesterday, it was presented at the Dnipro Academy of Music by our colleague, head of the Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Folklore and Ethnography DAM Olga Husyna.
An interesting report on ritual actions, which was based on the study of cultural traditions of our region.
Folk ensemble “Kalita” (leader Taras Khmylyuk) played songs that were sung on the eve of the wedding in the houses of the bride and groom, and Olga immersed the audience and online listeners in the historical curiosities of the tradition.
The lecture was held as part of the 4th International Ethnomusicological Symposium “Current Issues of Eastern European Ethnomusicology”, which is held in a mixed format and has already gathered fifty speakers from 10 countries.
By the way, the first symposium was held six years ago on this day!
Then it gathered many scientists, musicologists, folklorists.
Now it is a permanent platform for their communication.
Let’s preserve cultural heritage together!
