Only the fact that it all took place in Dnipro, within the walls of our musical alma mater — the Dnipro Academy of Music — during the annual concert of the Academic Folk and Choreographic Ensemble “Slavutych,” titled “The Cossack Line Will Never Be Broken.”
We are sincerely grateful to the amateur folk group “Znakhidka” (Zhovti Vody) and the People’s Amateur Folk Ensemble “Pershotsvit” (Kocherzhky village) — bearers of the Intangible Cultural Heritage element “Cossack Songs of the Dnipropetrovsk Region” (inscribed on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding) — and to their leaders for preserving and passing on this vital element of our identity to future generations.
