We participated in the forum “Policy of Inventory of ICH at the National and Local Levels” and the annual festival “Living Culture – Living World”.
The events were timed to the International Day of ICH, established by #UNESCO to draw attention to the importance of ICH and its preservation.
The organizers are the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine and the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine.
There were super cool speakers here!
The forum was moderated by Anastasia Bondar, Deputy Minister for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization.
VIP participant – Ms. Chiara Deci Bardeschi, Head of the UNESCO Delegation to Ukraine, to whom I would like to express my special gratitude for supporting our living heritage.
What was discussed:
1. Halyna Hryhorenko, First Deputy of the ICSC of Ukraine
– focused on the strategy for the development of culture, the priority of protection and preservation of the cultural heritage that makes us alive, the National List and the inclusion of elements in the UNESCO lists, which is a matter of national security, cultural diplomacy.
2. Anastasia Kozyar, ICSC of Ukraine
– about the results of the sector’s work since 2022, the breakdown of the National List by inventory, the inclusion of the largest number of elements in it, the preparation of 10 more for inclusion. Work with #UNESCO, where 5 new elements have now been submitted – 3 personal and 2 joint. On the launch of monitoring elements in 2025, digitalization of the National Security Council
3. Valentina Demian, to whom a special word of thanks for the invitation
The main topic is the law on the protection of the National Security Council and the complexity of its preparation (analysis of existing laws in other countries of the world, field research as part of other analytical studies), priorities of state policy in the field of the National Security Council.
The task of the law is to establish the rules of the game in the National Security Council, delimitation of powers, normalization of terminology, creation of a list of NGOs working in the National Security Council.
The goal is to make an up-to-date law that would meet modern requirements, which people could use.
There were also questions and answers.
They talked about the digital portal that is being developed, the problematic issues of the regions regarding the preservation of #ICH, especially those that, like Dnipropetrovsk region, are on the demarcation line…
There were many questions, so after the forum and the grand opening of the festival, a separate location was open for dialogue between representatives of the regions and the Ministry of Culture 🤝
A separate bright page is the festival that brought together carriers of living heritage from all over the country.
They presented elements of the ICH that are in the National Inventories and those that set this as a goal, elements of the ICH from the UNESCO lists.
A bright flower at the festival was our Petrykivka painting with Petrykivka masters. And on stage, the ensemble “Znakhidka” sang Cossack songs of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
During the festival, a creative atmosphere reigned for communication and exchange of experience between communities from different parts of Ukraine.
There was also White Borscht from Zhytomyr region, and Opishnya, and artistic and decorative painting from Poltava region, Tavria painting from Mykolaiv region, Easter eggs and embroidery “White on White”, etc.
Master classes, exhibitions, photo zones. And many, many masters and fans of #ICH
It was like another creative dimension, where the Ukrainian soul was felt.
We were happy to meet at the festival with recent speakers of our #MeetUP Anton Barabula, Inna Kuklina, Anastasia Kozyar, Valentina Demyan.
#ICH unites
