Ukrainian cultural heritage #ActionforHeritage

✍️We want to return once again to the forum “Ukrainian cultural heritage #ActionforHeritage”

So, during the panel, which was moderated by Iryna Kats, topical and important issues were raised, prompting the attendees to a lively dialogue.
Iryna Chygryn spoke on behalf of our organization, who shared her unique experience of writing a regional program and implementing measures to protect the element of the “Petrykivka painting” of the ICH 📝
📌In 2013, despite the lack of a cultural heritage regulatory framework adapted to international requirements in Ukraine, we developed the Program for the Preservation and Development of Cultural and Natural Heritage Objects, Elements of Intangible Cultural Heritage located on the territory of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast for 2014 – 2025 (Liliia Hyrenko, Iryna Korchemaha, Yana Polianska). 📌The initiative was supported by the deputies of the regional council and on January 31, 2014, they adopted the relevant decision.
📌This was the first experience of writing such a program in Ukraine.
📌It includes a separate section on the Petrykivka painting, which lists measures for preservation, popularization, and transmission of this element to future generations.
📌Representatives of the Petrykivka territorial community, as well as regional communal institutions of culture and education, representatives of civil society (in particular, NGO “WOMEN plus”) were involved in the implementation of the tasks and activities of the Program.
📌Currently, Petrykivka painting is taught at the “Sonechko” preschool, the House of Children’s Creativity, the Petrykivsk Children’s Art School named after T. Paty, Vocational and Technical School No. 79, Dnipropetrovsk Theater and Art College, at the Department of Fine Arts and Design of DNU named after O. Honchara. In other words, children learn Petrykivka painting’s skills almost from kindergarten until they get higher education.
📌NGO “WOMEN plus” is also actively involved in the popularization of this element – from the organization of master classes for various segments of the population (Tetyana Garkava) to the co-organization of the annual regional festival “Petrykivsky miracle” (which was started by our colleagues Larisa Filinova, Natalia Kovalenko and Olha Havrylenko); from conducting children’s contests on the theme of Petrykivka painting (Oksana Buturlina) to publishing handbooks on the elements of the ICH (Viktoria Klymovych, Nataliya Okhota, Iryna Korchemaha (Iryna Chygrin).
📌By teaching Petrykivka painting, we combine formal and informal education. And, of course, this skill is passed from parents to children from generation to generation.
📌Financing of events within the framework of the Program is carried out through communal institutions / enterprises of education and culture of Petrykivka settlement council, Dnipropetrovsk regional council, at the expense of the local budget of Petrykivka community and deputy subvention of Liliia Hyrenko and Nataliya Lysenko (representatives of our NGO) for promotion activities, transfer to the following generation of the NKS element.
Unfortunately, there are no other sources of funding for the Program’s activities.
🤝However, every resident of Petrykivka, involved in the Petrykivka mural, every representative of the NGO “WOMEN plus” unites their efforts around our pearl – the Petrykivka mural for its preservation for future generations.
This and other things were discussed during the work of the “intangible heritage” panel of the second #ActionForHeritage Forum
🤝Special thanks to Olha Sahaidak and Maryana Tomyn for the opportunity to join the dialogue platform on cultural heritage issues, which brought together representatives of different regions of Ukraine
