When we talk about gender-based violence, we immediately imagine violence against women.
But this social phenomenon has no gender or age. It does not depend on wealth, place of work. Both men and the elderly suffer from it, and what is most terrible – children. The numbers are staggering. Among the cases recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region alone, more than 240 are related to children.
We – NGO Women plus – learned about this during the International Forum “Stopping gender-based violence starts with you”. He graduated from the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs.
This year, the global theme of the international company is “16 days of activity against gender-based violence” – invest in the prevention of gender-based violence.
The internal topic in Ukraine is “Women and girls during the war”.
These topics were raised at the forum held in collaboration with the university and the apparatus of the EU Consultative Mission (ECM) in Ukraine.
We are grateful for the active moderation of the event by Dr. Gisela Duetting, gender advisor – head of the office of the KMEU and assistant to the rector, professor Larisa Nalyvaiko, speakers – for personal examples and practical notes.
🤞And we remind important contacts – where to go in case of domestic violence. It would be good if you distributed them on your pages:
