Warsaw, 18 November 2024 – An important event for Dnipropetrovsk region ☝️
An Agreement on the development of friendly relations has been signed between the Petrykivka community and Calstock Parish (UK)! The focus is primarily on culture.
This project was initiated and implemented with the support of the NGO WOMEN plus / Жінки Плюс, continuing our mission to promote one of the key elements of Ukrainian intangible cultural heritage – Petrykivka painting – in European culture.
In general, the productive areas of cooperation between the Petrykivka and Calstock communities include cultural and educational links, as well as experience exchange in local governance.
Planned activities include museum and exhibition collaborations, such as “Culture Days” on both sides, and many other initiatives, including tourism development.
The Agreement also provides for exchange visits – delegations and groups of specialists, cultural and art figures, students, and schoolchildren, as well as tourist groups, creating favorable conditions in the fields of tourism, culture, environmental protection, and ecological safety.
Of course, at present, these are plans for the future, as most cannot be implemented now due to the war. For now, the parties will develop relations online, for example through Petrykivka painting masterclasses, online conferences, and other activities.
The Agreement was signed on behalf of the Petrykivka community by Lidia Mozhna, Secretary of the Petrykivka Village Council.
The project coordinator “Petrykivka–Calstock” is Tetiana Maznychenko, a member of NGO WOMEN plus.
