On a Cossack Note
The Cossack songs of Dnipropetrovsk Region are a true treasure. In 2016, the global community recognized their value and included them in UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding. 👏 They preserve the spirit of history and tradition and unite generations. These songs resonate in the hearts of both young people and older generations.
With the goal of promoting these songs among children and teenagers, we organized a coloring contest titled “Cossack Songs of Dnipropetrovsk Region – Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.”
A total of 14 works were submitted to the contest. The youngest participants were 12 years old. 👍 The authors of the illustrations impressed everyone with their skill and creativity.
By the way, the text for the coloring book was written by our colleague Viktoriia Klymovych, and it has now received artistic design. It is now a full-fledged coloring book available in several versions!
The finalists received diplomas and gifts, and the winners were awarded subsidies from regional council deputy Gurenko Liliia:
1st place – Yelyzaveta Cherneta, student of Perevizski Khutory Village Club, Pokrov city
2nd place – Kateryna Chernysh, instructor at Magdalynivka Center of Culture and Leisure
3rd place – Mariia Hubenia, instructor at Kapulivka Village House of Culture, Center of Culture, Leisure, Tourism and Sports, Pokrov Village Council
Congratulations to all participants, and we look forward to new creative encounters!
