For the second year in a row, we are partners of the All-Ukrainian children’s drawing competition “Step to the Stars”, which is held on the occasion of World Aviation and Cosmonautics Day.
This year’s theme is Space Ukraine. We saw many wonderful drawings with the Ukrainian flag against the background of stars and planets, blooming Ukrainian cities, spaceships and a lot of cats! Well, how can we conquer outer space without them?
But we were captivated by the work of a 10-year-old girl, Maryna Krasovska from Kyiv, who drew the picture “Comet Lesya Ukrainka” and became the winner in the nomination “For the combination of love of astronomy and Petrykiv painting.”
• Spoiler: such a comet does exist. In 1970, it was discovered by the Ukrainian astronomer Tamara Smirnova.
So what did we like about this job? First, the historical side. Secondly, we love our Ukrainian poetess, playwright and social activist Lesya Ukrainka. Thirdly, in this work we saw our native Petrykivka painting – the shape and colors of the bulb.
To expand the winner’s knowledge of art, we presented her with a chest also painted with our native Mykolaivka painting.
We would like to thank our colleague Maryna Petrosyants, who personally handed Maryna a gift and certificate from the organizer of the competition of NCAEY named after Makarov.
Until next year.
