We study the elements of the intangible cultural heritage of the world

This year we are celebrating the 70th anniversary of Ukraine’s membership in UNESCO. This is an important event for us, because our organization became a part of this large cultural family, having received the status of a UNESCO Club.

Taking care of the preservation of the intangible heritage of humanity, we realized that it is better to raise awareness about elements and objects through contests.

Today, we finally celebrated the winners and finalists of the regional essay contest “Study the elements of the intangible cultural heritage of the world”.

About 100 works from students from 35 educational and cultural institutions of the region were submitted to the competition.

In their essays, they tried to convey the flavor of the country where elements of intangible cultural heritage reside, describe them, tell which UNESCO list they are on and what impressed them the most.

– It was a very interesting project. It gave children the opportunity to artistically and creatively express their new knowledge about the intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Perhaps, before this competition, they did not think about what exactly the objects and elements of the ICH are, and it was we who became the impetus for learning – cultural values, cultural heritage and information about them, – noted Liliia Hyrenko, deputy, head of the Department of issues of culture and sports of the executive apparatus of the regional council.

So…
