Gifts and interesting initiatives from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine

Petrykivsky painting does not let anyone go. Once you see it, it will be etched in your mind forever.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Ukraine Arad Benkö visited the branch of the Dnipropetrovsk College of Art and Culture.

But already with gifts and interesting initiatives.

During the last visit, Mr. Ambassador said that the cultures of Austria and Ukraine have something in common. Last time, our craftsmen presented to Arad Benkyo the Petrikovsky painting and Cossack songs of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Now Mr. Ambassador presented books about the heritage of Austria.

These are books by Reinhard Kriechbaum “Scheller, Schieicher, Maibaumkraxler” and Maria Walcher and Edith A. Weinlich “Heritage for all. 103 traditions from Austria”.

But there is one fact that really surprised the ambassador. Just a few weeks later, Dnipro students took part in the “Austrian postcards” competition. And for him it was necessary to get acquainted with the culture, architecture and traditions of Austria.

Iryna Fomenko, PR manager of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Austria in the city of Dnipro, told Arada Benkyo about this. The number of participants in the competition – 200 people – impressed him. Immediately there was an initiative to organize an exhibition of these drawings.

We remind you that Women Plus is among the organizers of this competition, together with the Austrian Consulate and the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.

Well, as for the Petrykivka painting, which, judging by the interest of Arad Benkyo, fell into the heart of the Ambassador, Lilia Hyrenko suggested that he visit the village of Petrykivka and see the masters directly, visit the museum and educational institutions, where the skills of Petrykivka painting are taught to the youngest. Because during the meeting, we talked a lot about the preservation of the national cultural heritage of our countries. And reality is nearby. Here, in Petrykivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
