Nowadays, the determination and resilience of Ukrainian sportswomen is the personification of the Ukrainian people.
This slogan was heard today at the 1st sports forum “Women in sports” in the Dnipro Olympic House.
And we timed it to the International Day of Women’s Sports. Yes, few people knew that such a day exists, but it has been celebrated for 10 years in a row. This holiday is said to help change stereotypes and prejudices about women in sports. Maybe. But we believe that our athletes, their coaches and educators break stereotypes every day. And they will continue to break.
We talked about this and the future of women’s sports at the Forum. We are almost a hundred women from the entire Dnipropetrovsk region: athletes, teachers of physical culture in community educational institutions, activists of public women’s and sports movements, deputies.
What is our goal?
Raising women’s sports and the sports movement in the Dnipropetrovsk region to a new level, we strive for a gender-just and inclusive world. In which every woman has the right to her own path to success in sports.
We look ahead. And we know for sure that after Victory, there will be a rethinking of the women’s movement in Ukraine, including the sports movement. After all, he will face new challenges – helping and rehabilitating athletes who went through the crucible of war; education of new Ukrainian winners; support for women who want to realize themselves in sports.
A woman in sports is a woman with a strong spirit.
