The opening of the Dnipro Philharmonic’s symphonic season was a true union of opposites.
It featured the virtuoso sound of a Violin Concerto with Orchestra (soloist — Dmytro Tkachenko, laureate of international competitions) alongside the forest-inspired melodies of the symphony-ballet “Green Holidays”.
The concert was conducted by Volodymyr Sirenko, People’s Artist of Ukraine. One of his distinctive contributions is the premiere performance and promotion of works by Ukrainian composers. Perhaps this is why “Green Holidays”, composed by Vitalii Hubarenko, was once dedicated to him. In this piece, one can hear birdsong, the rustling of leaves, and perhaps even the voices of forest fairies.
