Pre-EdCamp Dnipro – 2025

At the invitation of Anna Myahkykh, head of the NGO Gender Club Dnipro, we attended the informal Pre-EdCamp Dnipro – 2025 meeting: “Gender and Mental Health: How to Support Youth under Stress”, organized in cooperation with EdCamp Ukraine.
We had the opportunity to learn about the results of the Max Planck Institute’s sociological study, “Adolescent Needs in Wartime”, which highlights the challenges and resources young people require today.
During the meeting, Nataliya Aleksandrova — psychologist at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Information and Analytical Center for Medical Statistics and psychologist at the RAZOM for Ukraine Charity Foundation in Dnipropetrovsk region — shared useful and insightful information on supporting youth mental health in wartime conditions.
Key topics discussed included:
✅ Gender aspects of youth support
✅ Emotional resilience and self-regulation
✅ Creating a safe and inclusive educational environment
✅ Educational approaches for working with young people who have experienced loss, anxiety, or forced displacement
Participants also learned from the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Ukraine about opportunities for those who wish to implement youth initiatives in local communities.
