Summing Up the Creative Competition “Colorful Poems: Illustrations to Rilke’s Poetry”

Today we mark the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, which makes this post a tribute to the culture of another nation — Austria 🇦🇹.
Recently, we held the creative competition “Colorful Poems: Illustrations to Rilke’s Poetry”, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Austrian poet Rainer Maria Rilke.
The award ceremony took place at the Dnipropetrovsk National Historical Museum named after Dmytro Yavornytskyi, where:
✅ illustrations inspired by Rilke’s poems came to life on screen;
✅ poetry was performed by an actress of the Dnipropetrovsk Academic Regional Ukrainian Youth Theatre, accompanied by the music of Johann Strauss;
✅ gifts and certificates were presented, including those provided by the Honorary Consulate of Austria, the EVA retail chain, Athena Group, and the Lviv Cooperation Bureau.
As always, our permanent co-organizers — the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Austria in Dnipro — were with us.
This year, talented participants joined the competition from different parts of the region: Kamianske, Nikopol, Samar, Petrykivka, Pavlohrad, and Dnipro districts.
We sincerely thank:
all participants for their sensitivity, skill, and love for poetry — your creativity builds bridges between cultures, generations, and meanings;
the jury members for their professional expertise.
Rilke’s poetry came alive in color — and it was unforgettable.
