Presentation of the book “The city of Konotop in the materials of the general description of Left Bank Ukraine 1765-1769”

It is nice to see the results of work.
First, we participated in the presentation of the book “The city of Konotop in the materials of the general description of Left Bank Ukraine 1765-1769.”
The Konotopians did a great job. The book is an example of fundamental research. Here you can even find information about your ancestors from the middle of the 18th century!
Secondly, we were interested in telling our story. After all, we have something to be proud of. Dnipropetrovsk region is the land of the Cossacks, the land of the five sichs, which has preserved witnesses of that era. These are our Petrykiv painting and Cossack songs of Dnipropetrovsk region.
The guests from Konotop learned about the history of our songs, thanks to their colleagues Lilia Hyrenko, Natalia] Lysenko and Olga Husinia. And then we heard them performed by the folk folklore and ethnographic group “Krynytsia” (Pydhorodnye), one of the three whose names are in the nomination file at UNESCO. It was nice to see and hear the voices of these fragile performers. Their song touches the heart and fills the space.
Their students sang along to them. And this is the second pleasure. This means that the Cossack songs of Dnipropetrovsk region will live on!
For this, I would like to say many warm words to our “Krynytsia”, words of gratitude – to Kateryna Karapysh.
Cossack songs performed by groups did not leave anyone indifferent. They received a standing ovation.
Speaking about the times of the Cossacks, we are talking about the basis of the national spiritual wealth of Ukraine. Written or sung witnesses of the deeds of our ancestors help to maintain the connection of generations, to feel our roots.
The topic of Cossacks united Dnipropetrovsk region and Sumy region. Today we felt it. Ahead is the exchange of experience.
P.S. Separate words of gratitude for the organization of the event: Dnipro National University named after Oles Honchar (Sergiy Okovytyy) and Fidel Suchonis 🤝
