At all times, and especially in difficult times, it is important to believe in your country and its people. To study its history, to reveal its secrets.
It was this goal that we set before ourselves by holding the “Legends of Dnipropetrovsk region” contest.
Thanks to everyone who responded. Seventy-three stories from different parts of the region were sent to us by librarians, museum workers, educators, local historians who are in love with their region.
A competent jury consisting of librarians, museum workers, scientists, art critics and educators determined ten finalists of the competition and its winners.
The winners of the competition were:
1st place – Petrykivskiy central library with legend Petrykivskiy charm.
II place – Kryvyi Rih city library with the legend About the characteristic Cossack Fedor Vovk.
ІІІІ place – Novopodkryazka village library of Mogilev village council with legend How Cossack Kryaz fed enemies with kulish.
The finalists of the competition were the legends:
– “Legend About Shubin “, submitted by the Ternivka city local history museum;
– “The Secret of Shpakov mountain “, submitted by the Novolozuvatska village library;
– Roosters are a symbol of insubordination , submitted by preschool education institution No. 7 “Lastivka” of the Novomoskovsk City Council;
– “Poema about Kotovka “, submitted by the Kotovsky Village House of Culture;
– “The legendary secret of Fedora “, submitted by the Ternivka city public library;
– “Healing power of Vovchanska Bogatyr rock“, submitted by a veteran of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, Borys Kovtoniuk;
– “Legend about irises “, submitted by gymnasium No. 2 in Novomoskovsk.
