We participated in the 5th regional educational and cultural conference “Let’s preserve the heritage together”, which was organized jointly with the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council and the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Association of Local Government Bodies.
The event brought together more than 110 participants from the communities of Dnipro, Pavlograd, Petrykyvka, Tomakivka, Pershotravensk, Kamianske, Vilnohirsk and others. The participants were representatives of local government, pupils, students and teachers of educational institutions of various levels, performers and researchers of songs, museum workers.
The head of the NGO, Liliia Hyrenko, told the participants about the Cossack history of our region and its rich heritage, there are 2 ICH elements of the region, which are recognized by UNESCO, the importance of preserving and passing them on to future generations.
She also spoke about the masters of Petrykivka painting, about the existing collectives-carriers of the ICH element “Cossack songs of the Dnipropetrovsk region” and their companion collectives, and the special role of youth in preserving heritage. After all, it is heritage that forms our identity, it is our genetic code. As an individual, as well as the Ukrainian nation.
