HOW NOT AFRAID TO BE ACTIVE

Is this relevant for you? I want to share my experience.
My work as a deputy gives me the opportunity to communicate with people of different ages, genders, social status. I know for myself how exciting it is to prepare for a speech in front of an audience.
How to interest people, make them not just listen to you, but also hear? How to learn to be a determined, active leader?
My activity recipes are as follows:

1.Believe in yourself.
Instead of looking for flaws in yourself, look for strengths, because there are things you do better than others. Self-belief comes with concrete actions. If something doesn’t work out the first time, don’t lose hope. Failure is a reason to make adjustments in your path, not to deviate from it. In the words of Lina Kostenko, “Defeat is a science. No victory teaches that. ”

2.Don’t think about what others will say about you.
Margaret Thatcher said: “Never listen to condemnations against you. Because even if you walk on water, be sure to find someone who says, “Look, he can’t even swim.” And the Japanese strategist Sakuma Shozan believed: “Only an immature person worries about what will be said about him or what he will be called. No matter what you call a sakura, it still blooms divinely. ”

3.Move more.
Do you have no time for training, gyms, active sports? Go for a walk more. Park your car away from your home for more time to walk. Go for a walk during the lunch break.

4.Constantly learn and develop.
To be interesting – ask yourself. Try to be aware of events happening in the field of your activity, in your city, district. This will not only enrich your awareness, but also allow you to navigate more easily in the information field. Read more – this is how your vocabulary increases, the language apparatus develops. Henry Ford, an American, says: “Everyone who stops studying, is getting older,it doesn’t matter if they are 20 or 80, and those who continue to study stay young. The most important thing in life is to keep the brain young. ”

5.Learn to speak in front of people.
Find out clearly who your audience is, because speaking to students and retirees, to representatives of different professions should be different. Write a plan and thesis of your speech. American psychologist Dale Carnegie says: “A public speech is a journey with a specific purpose, and its route must be mapped.” Speak in front of a mirror or someone close to you. Do not read from the paper! At the beginning of the speech, say what you want to talk about, give a proverb, an unusual fact or, conversely, a situation that worries you – interest people, make them listen to you. If possible, use slides, illustrations or diagrams to make your presentation easier to understand. Speak in simple, accessible words and short sentences. Follow the plan – do not delay the protrusion and do not spray on small things. And believe me, when you know the topic, you understand it – it’s easy to say. The main thing is to finish the performance on time. When your listeners start yawning, whispering, immersing themselves in the phone – your time is up. Joke, repeat the main thesis and finish.

6.Don’t be afraid to dream.
Set yourself an incredible, seemingly unattainable goal and go to it step by step. Retreating and catching up, making mistakes and correcting mistakes, learning and developing. Even if no one believes you, do it. And you will succeed.

Everyone can have their own rules. Mine are like that. I will be glad if they will be useful to you.
