We visited the Ethno-Homestead in Popasne of the Hubynivska Territorial Community – one of the three winners of the regional review-competition of ethno-homesteads and rural green farms in Dnipropetrovsk region, “ETHNO-HOMESTEADS.”
Our colleagues – Liliia Gurenko, Nataliya Lysenko, Dina Miftakhutdinova, Iryna Fomenko, Viktoriya Oreshina, and Iryna Chygryn – were truly impressed by the visit. ☺
The place amazes with its unique authenticity and beauty, transporting visitors to the past of Ukrainian village life. The Pryimak family, hosts of the ethno-homestead, meticulously restored the building, and local artisans decorated it with Mykolaiv-style painting.
We had the opportunity to see unique household items, including chests and a traditional loom. Leaving the modern world behind for a while, we tried our hand at weaving and explored traditional crafts. This fascinating experience allowed us to feel the depth of our people’s culture.
After the ethno-homestead, we visited the Vasylkiv Local History Museum, explored locations for green tourism – rivers, lakes, hills, and lowlands of Popasne and Vasylivka. We enjoyed craft cheeses, honey, and participated in a “herbal tea ceremony” with local herbs, tasting bread and pies baked in a traditional Ukrainian oven. 🙏
The visit left warm memories and inspired new projects.
We are grateful to the representatives of Hubynivska Territorial Community, especially Anton Borysenko and Inna Pryimenko, for the opportunity to recharge and reconnect with our cultural roots.
