International Day of the Intangible Cultural Heritage

Today, once again, we speak about the importance of preserving living heritage, implementing measures for its safeguarding, the role of culture in people’s lives, and the education of younger generations. We speak about our Cossack Songs and Petrykivka Painting, which are recognized by UNESCO and serve as key identifiers of our region. ☝️
At the invitation of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage, we joined the webinar “Intangible Cultural Heritage and Artificial Intelligence.” Representatives from the United Kingdom, Congo, Ukraine, Sweden, Egypt, Nigeria, India, the USA, Spain, Portugal, Nepal, and other countries discussed the new challenges facing intangible cultural heritage and the possibilities of using the latest scientific achievements.
Thus, the discussion focused on the future—new knowledge, skills, and technologies for safeguarding and promoting #ICH. Many questions were raised regarding copyright issues in the application of artificial intelligence.
We sincerely thank our international partners for their support, especially during this difficult time for us.
As long as culture lives, the world lives.
