On International Mother Language Day, the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Center for Social and Psychological Assistance (Maryanna Myshchenko) handed over books by modern Ukrainian writers to the book crossing. Today, 17 people temporarily live in the institution. These are internally displaced persons from cities that are currently under fire, people who have found themselves in difficult life circumstances and who have experienced violence. First, we participated in the presentation of the book “The city of Konotop in the materials of the general description of Left Bank Ukraine 1765-1769.” The Konotopians did a great job. The book is an example of fundamental research. Here you can even find information about your ancestors from the middle of the 18th century! Secondly, we were interested in telling our story. Lecture-concert “Traditional wedding in Dnipropetrovsk region: bachelorette party”. Yesterday, it was presented at the Dnipro Academy of Music by our colleague, head of the Educational and Scientific Laboratory of Folklore and Ethnography DAM Olga Husyna. An interesting report on ritual actions, which was based on the study of cultural traditions of our region. We would like to thank the head of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Austria in the city of Dnipro Iryna Fomenko (who is part of our team) for the initiative of the “Austrian postcard” competition 🤝.
